New Citizens Celebrate Personal Journeys in Calgary

I have been honoured to read poetry for 3 citizenship ceremonies, 2 virtually, and 2 online. It has been amazing being able to work with The Institute for Canadian Citizenship.

I felt glad to be present at these ceremonies to remind these new citizens that being a new Canadian is an opportunity to enrich Canada by bringing your identity with you. Canada is a country of immigrants, and our uniqueness brings us together.

The power of culture is so important for us to maintain and I’m glad I could be a point of contact for them.
