The PitBull Poetry Reading Series, running 4 Wednesday evening in July at Century Gardens. This poetry reading series features an open mic and featured poets each week. Sponsored by Downtown Calgary and hosted by Wakefield Brewster aka Da Lyrical Pitbull under The Indie YYC one of Wakefield’s ongoing projects that provides poets with a platform to share their powerful and inspirational poetry, come sit back and listen to some poetry in the park!

Wakefield Brewster is the 3rd Poet Laureate that I have had the pleasure of working with here in Calgary. His passion for creating opportunities for poets throughout his career, especially artists of colour is something I wish to emulate in my practice as a poet as well.
